Warning: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them few options but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Seekers and Strategists groups.
Fans can look forward to finding out which characters will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
